Prime Minister Altankhuyag Norov to speak at Discover Mongolia – 2012

 

ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA (August 27, 2012) -Discover Mongolia International Mining Investors Forum (IMIF) will take place on the 30^th and 31^st of August, 2012 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

 

The Government of Mongolia today announced that the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. Altankhuyag Norov will be attending and speaking at the opening of the “Discover Mongolia – 2012” International Mining Investors’ Forum.

 

 Celebrating its 10^th anniversary, Discover Mongolia has become a platform for collaboration and discussions between foreign and domestic investors and the Government of Mongolia.  This year’s forum will place an emphasis on policy and legislation, providing an opportunity for the newly elected coalition government to engage with investors on key topics of concern.

 

In particular, attendees will be keen to understand the government’s policy towards mineral exploration, foreign direct investment, and key project developments such as how and when Tavan Tolgoi, the largest undeveloped coking coal deposit in the world will be launched.

 

 Mr. Chris MacDougall, Managing Director of the Mongolian Investment Banking Group LLC based in Ulaanbaatar said “I am pleased to hear that the Prime Minister’s office is taking an active role in the discussions at Discover Mongolia this year.  This is an important look into the new Government’s plan for the mining sector and I expect that the message will carry implications for both foreign and domestic investors”.

 

 The Forum will be held during the 30^th and 31^st of August at the Children’s Palace of Mongolia. Delegates who wish to participate but have not yet registered can do so at the Children’s Palace of Mongolia on the 29^th of August 2012.
